    I know one is for his service in the Boer. He transported troops and such to the front line. This is why EJ's ships all became RNR (Royal Naval Reserve) under his command.

    Hi David I have both medals of the type issued to Capt. Smith in my collection. The Transport medal and the RNR decoration. I have illustrated these on this website and you will find them under Crew research; E J Smith Capt.; Smiths medals. Hope it will be helpful to actually see what they look like and with the correct ribbons.
