The wife of a North East man who lost his life in the Titanic disaster, died to-day.
She was Mrs Isabella D.M.Thomson [sic] (74). 76 Bonnymuir Place, Aberdeen, wife of the late Mr Alex. Thompson, late Seaview Hotel, Boddam.
Mr Thompson was 33 years of age when he set sail on the Titanic, intending to settle at Barre, Vermont, U.S.A. His wife and their family of three were to follow on once he got settled.
A letter cutter to trade, Mr Thompson had not long returned from Cape Town, where he had inscribed a plaque on the top of Table Mountain.
His younger son, Adam, also lost his life in the Atlantic. A merchant sailor, he went down with the passenger and cargo ship Almeda Star when she was torpedoed on her way to Buenos Aires.
