Why is the cover art on the Blu-Ray case different in the UK and US?

The UK cover has a more optimistic light cover, with Jack and Rose in the flying scene from the first part of the movie, the romance part, while the US cover shows a pessimistic dark scene; Jack and Rose are holding onto each other at the stern's fantail at the top of the picture and the bottom part of the picture shows the Titanic sinking from the second part of the film, the sinking part.

Here are the two covers:

Do you think the US cover shows the ship sinking because more Americans like the second part of the film, the tragic sinking disaster part, while the British prefer the beautiful beginning part of the film?

Is that a fact that Americans prefer the second part and the British prefer the first part? I prefer the first part and I’m British so this must be true actually :D
I'm an American and I actually like both parts, the majesty of the ship at the beginning and its horrific sinking at the end. But I guess some Americans hate the romance in the film. In fact, I've heard that this film used to be in the Top 250 Movies on IMDb, but people voted it down so it lost its position.

Yeah, the romance is a bit slushy for me but I just love seeing the ship come alive in colour (well what it would have looked like) and all the characters.
