I once saw a framed painting of the Thayer drawing in a Rudy Tuesday restaurant in Apple Valley, Minnesota that really caught my attention.
I'd love to hear other experiences!
Which painting of the Titanic splitting in two do you like better: Ken Marschall's or the one done by Simon Fisher, which is seen on the cover of The Mammoth Book of the Titanic?
The one by Fisher seems to show the third funnel splitting up into many pieces.
My wife inherited a signed and numbered copy (inscribed and signed to her grandfather by the author) of John B. Thayer's The Sinking of the S.S. Titanic, April 14-15, 1912. It is one of 500 numbered and signed copies printed privately in 1940 and is in good shape.
My wife wishes to sell...
I know that one of the Titanic's stewards drew a picture of the ship going down as she was firing rockets, and then theres Thayer Jr.'s "drawings" (sic), but how many other survivors drew what they saw that night?
Cheers
