    Why was the sheer lowered?

    I remember looking at a list of refits of the Olympic, and one of them says: Sheer line (Yellow line on hull) lowered. So why was it? Originally, it was above the black hull. But after the refit, Olympic had her sheer line lowered to on the black hull. Many other WSL ships also had the refit...

    Hull paint

    So I look in Titanic pictures I can tell a little bit of the water line is visible the whole way of the ship, but how much feet tall is the sliver of the waterline above the water? Is a sliver or is it actually big? And what color is the water line???? :confused:
