So what was the exact shade of red used on The antifouling paint of the Olympic Class Liners? Based on the remnants seen on the wreck, does anyone here have an estimation of what that paint used to look like before it spent 100 years on the ocean floor?

If anyone could provide me with a set color paint scheme for a model titanic i would greatly appreciated . Also any tools or tips on building one would help!
Hey, everyone! This is the second article I'm writing for this Encyclopedia so once again, I apologize if it's in the wrong section.
I was recently reading Peter Davis-Garnier's "RMS Titanic: A Modelmaker's Manual", and in that book, it is stated that the "White Star buff" colour was sometimes...
The RMS Titanic’s antifouling paint, as do ships of today, is primarily made of red oxide. Red oxide is an anticorrosive material, and when used directly in paint gives the paint a red colour, and that material makes the paint have anticorrosive qualities. Red oxide is used in paints to protect...
Hello everyone...this might seem a daft question, but I was curious about what colour the engine castings were likely to have been painted? You see similar surviving steam engines and they are often painted colours like gloss dark or light green, with a lot of red parts- hopefully you know the...

Like countless others before me, I've been fascinated by the Titanic for as long as I can remember but I'm new to the forum and have already learned so much new stuff about the Titanic and its sad demise it's just not true.
It's quite normal that newbies on any forum...
A few pictures seem to show a white stripe running the length of the hull. One taken circa 1911 clearly shows it. But no drawings or diagrams show it. Titanic Research and Modelling Association also doesn't mention it. It also looks like the stripe on Mauretania and Lusitania.
So I look in Titanic pictures I can tell a little bit of the water line is visible the whole way of the ship, but how much feet tall is the sliver of the waterline above the water? Is a sliver or is it actually big? And what color is the water line????
In 1987 when Dr Ballard gave a slideshow of his dive to Titanic at a THS convention, he showed some still unpublished photos- most impressive to me were areas beaneath the waterline where the red antifouling paint was still there, solid and unfaded. Also in most shots, the officers quarters on...
I have noticed that in several pictures of the Olympic's launching, the ship appears white, But in Titanic's photos, the hull is fully painted. Am I just looking at bad pictures, or what?
