Who will be on the Queen Victoria's maiden voyage

Anyone here planning on sailing the Queen Victoria on her maiden voyage?
Im curious if her decor will be similiar to the QM2....

What I would like to know is it possible that in 2005 will passengers be able to transfer from the Queen Mary 2 to the Queen Victoria in Southampton? I have John Maxtone-Graham's book titled "Liners To The Sun" and on page 170 is a picture taken June 18,1959 in Southampton of passengers on deck of the Queen Elizabeth looking across the water at the other Cunard Ship Caronia.Both the Queen Elizabeth and Caronia are docked at opposite sides of Southampton's Ocean Dock.Under the picture are words that describe that passengers have disembarked off the Caronia,she just concluded a Mediterranean cruise and that many of these passengers just off the Caronia will now board the Queen Elizabeth to continue passage to New York.Does anyone know if Cunard will restart this passengers changing Cunard Ships tradition in 2005? In 2005 Cunard will have the Queen Mary 2,Queen Elizabeth 2 and Queen Victoria in service. Sincerely,Jerry Nuovo

Are you sure this changing ships business is a Cunard tradition? Wouldn't it be troublesome also for either one of the three ships to meet and change passengers?

By the way, noticed you didn't add the Caronia. Is she going to the breakers?

Jeremy, Cunard sold Caronia to this other company named I think Saga Cruises earlier this year.But Cunard still has the ship until late 2004 when the new owners then take ownership of the ship and she will still be used for cruises.And I would like to know if in 2005 Cunard will schedule the Queen Mary 2,Queen Victoria and or Queen Elizabeth 2 to be in the same port on the same day be it Southampton or New York so that the passengers can transfer from one Cunard Ship to another Cunard Ship. In follow up to your poste, I too would love to sail to the UK on the QM2, and switch to the Queen Victoria..
Such a changing of the guard would be amazing.....
Any theories as to the Queen Victoria's destinaton her maiden voyage?
My guess is Greece....

Hi Tarn, I found out on a cruise on the QE2,That the maiden voyage of the Queen Victoria maybe a mystery cruise.This information came from the 2 women who work aboard the QE2 in the cruise sales office for passengers who wish to leave a deposit for a future Cunard cruise.They also said that they think that the mystery cruise of the maiden voyage of the Queen Victoria may go to the Mediterranean but they are not sure.If the maiden voyage of the Queen Victoria is a Mediterranean Cruise the itineraries would probably be to ports in Spain,Southern France,Italy and Greece. Quick note: I have learned that the December 2007 maiden voyage, to northern Europe and Scandanavia, is fully booked, but we can be put on wait-lists.
There is still spaces open on the 2007 Christmas voyage, going to Gibraltar and the Canary Islands; however I will pass on that. Those of us on Queen Mary 2 do have early booking preference, so we can book while on board.

I, myself, will check out the other 2008 planned voyages. I would like to do a Caribbean cruise, or one from New York or Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles, through the Panama Canal, which the Queen Victoria will be able to navigate.

Hi John, I was wondering if you would even consider doing what I did a few months ago and what I will do again next January and that is board the QE2 in New York or Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles,through the Panama Canal.Though you may have to wait till 2008 to be able to do this aboard the QE2 because I am certain that the New York/Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles/San Francisco segment of the QE2's 2007 World Cruise is already sold out and even though I wrote in previous posts that I want to extend the N.Y. to L.A. aboard the QE2 next January to San Francisco the reality is that the single occupancy cabins are already sold out for N.Y. to S.F. so I'll have to settle for N.Y. to L.A. aboard the QE2 next January.John are you aware that the Queen Victoria will be a cruise ship and not a true ocean liner?

Hi Jerry.

I was thinking about doing another Cunard trip in 2008, as I will have used up a good deal of vacation time by the end of this year, and will want to accumulate some, through 2007, for the year 2008. I will consider a QE2 trip for New York to LA, via the Panama Canal.

Jerry, I look forward to seeing you again, when you return.

I do know that the Queen Victoria will be running a cruise ship circuit, even though she will be designed as an ocean liner.

Tomorrow I will stop by the Travel Office here on the Queen Mary 2, and inquire about the 2008 Queen Victoria trips being planned.
I will also see about the possibility of a wait-list option for the maiden trip to Scandanavia; will make sure to have lots of warm clothing, if an opening occurs.

We were inundated with construction photos of QM2 construction but Vicky seem to be elusive. Anyone have a clue. Sooooper Thanks

Jon, the only photos I've seenso far have been a couple of shots of the first hull section being lowered into the graving dock. I don't even recall where I saw it. From the looks of it, there just doesn't seem to be as much public interest in the ship as there was in the QM2.

Jon, I have tried to find pictures of the Queen Victoria under construction but I have not been able to find pictures of the Queen Victoria under construction here on the internet.I did call Cunard to ask them about the lack of pictures concerning Queen Victoria and Cunard told me that pictures of the Queen Victoria under construction will be released next January.
