A deck help

hi

just need some help on a part on the A deck promenade (if thats right) and i was just thinking what is the pipe that runs under it?
and why does the deck stick out a tad?

James, in the absence of any schematics of the Titanic's plumbing, all I can offer is a wild guess. That pipe doesn't have any markings on it and doesn't appear to have any fixtures like fireplugs on it. My guess is that it's part of the drainage system but I could be wrong.
