I've noticed the designs of the ocean liners in this short are based on the ones from the 30s, like the Queen Mary and the Normandie with them having three or two funnels.
There are also two shipwrecks in this short; Little Toot accidentally causes a liner to crash into skyscrapers in New York, and he saves a liner stuck on rocks.
