Empty corridors

What is the purpose of the corridors that just have a locker at the end of them ? (I understand the ones that give access to rooms).
it just seams a waste of space.

Those are the rooms of the expansion joints store rooms. Two of these kind of rooms also could be found right above it on the port and starboard side on A-deck. Another pair of these kind of rooms for the expansion joints could be found further aft
