Is there any evidence that anybody was aboard that ship at all? The article indicates a broken tow rope was hanging from the bow. My bet is that anybody checking around will find that she was being towed somewhere, sans crew, for some reason and the tow was parted.

Well somebody had to own that ship. I wonder if anybody thought to search any of the registries in the public records offices around the world...or perhaps in China. I've a sense that somehow, this thing became a hot potato and was just cast adrift in the hope that it would never be traced back to the last one who held the legal bona fides to the vessel.
