The famous ocean liner Titanic sunk 110 years ago this week. Native Augustan and presidential aide Archibald "Archie" Butt, 46, was aboard.

Witnesses said he died nobly as the ship sank, insisting women and children get the lifeboat seats.

It's unclear why this Augustan was aboard the famous ship.

"One of the last, identified as Marie Young, said Butt calmly wrapped her in blankets, and said, "Luck is with you. Will you kindly remember me to all the folks back home?"

This is false. Marie Young wrote the President to tell him the statement was made up that she even saw Maj. Butt in Titanic's last minutes.
