Royal Caribbean Cruise Line vsCunard Line

I have read in a cruise news website that Royal Caribbean and the Finnish shipyard Kvaener-Masa have developed a new plan for a new class of cruise ship. This class of ship would be called Ultra-Voyager.This is not a firm order.Royal Caribbean says it anticipates entering into construction contracts for Ultra-Voyager if the euro-dollar exchange rate move to a more favorable position. The Ultra-Voyager would be larger than the current Voyager class ships.Such as 15% larger in space and passenger capacity as compared to the Voyager class and the Ultra-Voyager class ships would carry 3,600 passengers (double-occupancy) 500 more than the Voyager class ships. The first ship would be built in 2006 and a option for a second ship in 2007 or 2008.One more fact to mention is that if the Ultra-Voyager class ships are built they would be built to a gross registered tons of a little under 160,000 gross registered tons. And if that happens these ships would take away the largest passenger ship in the world title from Cunard's Queen Mary 2.This makes me think of the White Star Line building the Titanic,Olympic and Britannic to be larger than the Cunard ships Lusitania and Mauretania.Anyone else have any thoughts on this story? Sincerely,Jerry Nuovo
