Steam Launches

I was reading about RMS Niagara, which was launched in 1912 and ran on the Canada -- Australasia run. She was quite large for a pacific liner of that era. Her complement of boats included a steam launch. I am curious; did any White Star Liners carry one, and did any trans-Atlantic liners carry one? Also, for those who know about the fitting of steam launches on ocean liners, were they carried in a position where they could be realistically lowered in an emergency?

HMT Olympic carried a single steam launch under radial davits during on her starboard aft well deck. HMHS Britannic carried two motor launches outboard of the fourth funnel under gantry davits.
