The Titanic is today the world’s most famous ship. Here we get to follow the fascinating story of the mythical ship and discover in the fate of the Swedes.
Erik Lind was one of the four from Sweden in the first class. He bought a ticket despite standing on the precipice of the ruin and his letter from the ship gives a sense of the unlikely luxury that met these passengers. We also get to meet Severin Svensson, who defying death jumped into a lifeboat on the way to being lowered, Olga Lundin, who was thrown into a lifeboat screaming and against her will, and Carl Olof Jansson, who managed to survive against all odds.
The book is richly illustrated with many unique photographs from the Titanic and contains biographies of the 123 Swedes on board, including the 34 who were saved.
