Titanic on Screen
TITANIC ON SCREEN: A Beginner’s Guide to the Titanic Disaster in Movies, Documentaries, Television & News Reels documents the many films and documentaries released for the big and small screen; from the early days of the liner’s construction for news reels to Hollywood blockbusters, television and home entertainment.
Each chapter covers the release and its year, starting from 1909, through the decades of war, the glitz and glamour of the 1950s; the swinging 60s; technicolour 70s; retro 80s; computer generated 90s; the new millennium; and to conclude with the 2020s.
Each entry includes production details (movie, television, news reel), release format, year of release, production companies and a brief synopsis of content.
While this is not a full guide of everything ever put to print, it is comprehensive and serves well as an introduction in searching, viewing and building a library be it for home or archive on the legacy of Titanic that also includes her two sisters; Olympic and Britannic.
