Miss Julia Blanche Cservenka was born in Nitra, Austria-Hungary (modern-day Slovakia) on 3 December 1886. She was the daughter of Frederick Cservenka, a postal official.
Miss Cservenka was a stewardess on the Carpathia when that ship rescued the survivors of the Titanic disaster.
In 1913 Julia was married to another veteran of the Carpathia rescue, waiter Vernon Livermore (b. 1880). The couple made their home in Liverpool and welcomed their only child Catherine Hilda Ethel in 1914.
In May 1915 Julia’s husband Vernon and her brother-in-law Algernon Percy Penny (Penny was married to Julia’s sister Ethel née Cservenka1) were saloon cabin stewards aboard the Lusitania when that ship was torpedoed. Both men survived.
Julia Livermore, née Cservenka, remained a resident of Liverpool for the rest of her life; she died on 23 April 1961 and was buried in West Derby Cemetery.
