Out of all the costumes I am interested in, it would have to be Ruth's, especially her dinner gowns, since they aren't given as much attention as Rose's. I'd like to see them recreated, especially for a video game set in 1910 or thereabouts.
Two of the costumes are up for auction...
In the biography of Shawneene George Joseph, she mentions that the Syrian/Lebanese immigrants in 3rd class had their own dining saloon. Was it just a section of the dining saloon that they had, or did they really have their own separate dining saloon? I'm assuming they wouldn't have been served...
Hello everyone!
I advance that I am almost sure which service was used in first class dining room (the service à la russe), through simple deductions that I would like to share with you. However, "almost certainty" is not "certainty" and I want to know if anyone remembers having read something...
Hi! Does anyone know what the first class passengers' servants ate? I know they were in the maids and valet's saloon on C deck, but what did they eat there? Was it probably just the same as the second class or (maybe? probably unlikely) third class menu? Any other info about the servants' meals...
In Walter Lord's "A Night to Remember", during the collision, four stewards are mentioned as working in the First Class Dining Saloon.
"Meanwhile, down below in the First Class dining saloon on D Deck, four other members of the Titanic’s crew were sitting around one of the tables. The last...
A rare Titanic menu details one of the Titanic officers final meals on board.
The handwritten menu is undated but the auctioneers' research has led them to conclude it is most likely from the weekend that the Titanic was lost. The menu was saved by First-Class Saloon Steward Edward Wheelton...
Next month, a ‘pocket-sized’ menu from the doomed passenger liner - believed to be only one of two in existence - will be up for grabs at Nesbits in Clarendon Road...
The entire restaurant in the original building was copied on board the ill-fated Titanic, from the decor to the place settings.

In 1987, veteran submersible pilot and former French naval commander PH Nargeolet journeyed to an ocean location some 330 miles southeast of Newfoundland, Canada — then plunged more than 2 miles below the surface of the Atlantic. At that depth, he laid eyes on the RMS Titanic, exactly 75 years...
I assume that First Class passengers who chose to eat at the a la carte restaurant instead of the dining hall had to pay for the meal.
How much in actual Pounds or Dollars would a good 4-course meal for TWO including good (but not rare vintage or anything) wine have cost on board the Titanic...
Hello Im doing some research on the construction of the Titanic and I was having a hard time coming across how Bruce Ismay and Lord Wiliam James Pirrie's meeting came about in the first place to even begin talks on the Olympic class? If anyone knows or has a source Id truely appreciate it.
Did each class eat their meals at the same time? I'm interested specifically in 3rd class. I know the meal times for 1st class, but can't find anything on 3rd class and so I wasn't sure if the times were for all classes or just 1st. Any insight is appreciated!
Hello
I'm interested in the VIP Dinnerware sold in the Titanic store, just curious if anyone knows the history or purpose of them?
I haven't seen too many images of these plates or references to them in any movies. They always use the first class dinnerware set
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Hi Y'all!
I found a Second Class Dining Saloon Tile, lying on the Second Class Entrance of the Stern. (Located in the NOAA 2003 Footage)
Good eye, huh? I'm the First to spot it!! :D
Hi all. I read somewhere that the dining saloon opened for dinner at 7pm, so im wondering when it was closed? Does anyone know when, or did the passengers just leave when they were done?
Hi,
I remember reading on here that allocated seating was provided for first class passengers in the saloon - requests could be made by passengers to the purser for preferences/changes to this and passengers tended to be placed in terms of common interest and nationality, etc.
But, if some...
