Cruise Ship Food

I have read very little on the ongoing problem of passengers falling ill to the food on cruise lines.
Would any of our esteemed captains here have some insight on this problem?
Is it unique to one line or are others experiancing problems also?
Any insight would be most welcome!
Thank you, Don

Don, you might want to check out the New Age of Passenger Liners thread a few of us old salts have had running for almost a year and a half now. We've been discussing the problem there. This isn't unique to one line or even one ship as there have been several outbreaks of what appears to be the Norwalk virus and two cases of Legionairre's Disease.

To keep this in perspective though, the outbreaks...while irritating...have been fairly isolated. There are literally hundreds of cruise ships of all sizes out there which have been operating without so much as a hiccup.

Michael, want to know a fun fact about the Norwalk virus? It's our towns claim to fame, although it is embarrassing lol...It originated at school here in good old Norwalk, OH. I just got back from a cruise, and this fact helped us to clear some rooms lol.
