Freedom of the Seas

I've just seen a photo of Freedom of the Seas and I see where the 184' comes from. She has semi-circular balconies a little abaft the bridge. They protrude quite a long way over the side of the hull. The measurement would be nice to know if she had to go through a tunnel, but it has nothing to do with the hydrodynamics of the ship.

Those are actually spa/hot tubs that extend over the side of the Freedom in the Solarium area.

Actually they are rather inventive and one interesting fact: They are larger in surface area than the pool on the first ship of the Royal Caribbean fleet, Song of Norway.
