H & W's huge German fitting out crane

Does anyone know anything about his huge German "fitting out" crane. It apparently floated. You see it in many of the "fitting" pictures of Olympic and Titanic -- at different locations. I have two pictures of Titanic that look virtually the same --- yet one shows the crane, the other doesn't. It doesn't look doctored, but I suppose that's always a possibility. But, is it possible that the big crane could be moved, or lowered? In that event, the pictures may have been snapped one after the other, or in close proximity.

Eaton and Haas describe the beast as a 150 ton floating crane. The photos I have in bot Triumph and Tragedy as well as my Shipbuilder reprint show the thing to be on a barge.
