HMS Albion

This is not really a Titanic-related subject, but I thought people might like to see this image.

When I first became interested in Titanic, I was fascinated by the images of anchors / funnels, etc. being towed through the streets to Harland & Wolff. So when I saw this picture in last Friday's Times newspaper, it certainly grabbed my attention!

It's a section of the amphibious assault ship, HMS Albion, being moved to its berth for assembly at Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, UK.

Sorry for the poor resolution - it was the only way I could make the photo small enough to upload.

Regards,
Paul.

Once upon a time, we use horses to move equipment through the streets. Now we use motor vehicals to move entire sections of ships.

We've come a long way, baby!

Thanks for posting this, Paul.

Cordially,
