Defender successfully completes her first sea trials

HMS Defender — the Navy’s fifth state-of-the-art Type 45 destroyer — has successfully completed her first set of sea trials off Scotland.

The ship has returned to BAE Systems’ yard in Scotstoun, Glasgow, after three weeks testing her speed, manoeuvrability, sensors and weapons.
