QM2 Brochure

Hi Jim!
Thanks for the info. So is it possible tickets for the sold out innagural voyages may surface?

I wonder if its comparable to what happened when Paul McCartney played Boston- his shows sold out in minutes, yet 45 minutes before the concert began, floor seats went for sale.

Perhsps QM2 tix will surface shortly before the maiden voyage....

Also Im sure if there were people who put thier deposits down who didnt pay the full ammount, the ticket goes back into the system...

Tickets for one of the maiden sailings MAY turn up- you might want to check through an agent to see if there is a 'wait list' and, if so how long it is.

What you could ALSO do is contact Cunard and find out when passage on the Queen Victoria will be put on sale, and book that maiden voyage instead.

I received my QM2 video a couple of weeks ago! It's great, but as Susan mentioned it's way too short.

She is going to be an incredible and fabulous ship. I'm looking forward to next April!

Best regards,

Jason

I plan on it- and also on sending out as many postcards as I can to generate what will one day- hopefully- be neat keepsakes. Since there is also onboard internet access, I will be keeping a running commentary, here, throughout.

I was called down to my travel agent today to pick up a package which I hoped were the tickets but which proved to be the Cunard Line Guest Registration Form (1 page) wrapped up inside a Maiden Voyage facts brochure with "personalised" cover. Most of the facts are expanded versions of the passenger information in the initial brochure, and there is a cost breakdown of all of the in port package tours. The Maiden Voyage number is QM2040112.

Queen Mary 2
- She's Here!
Southampton 26th December 2003 1350 hours.
Just back indoors after seeing this wonderful looking ship arrive and tie up at her berth in Southampton Docks.
The weather was terrible - very windy, very wet and very bleak but she certainly brightened things up.
Up close she is simply ''overpowering''.

Best regards

Brian, I hope you took many pictures.

I am, definitely, looking forward to seeing her, next April, both when I arrive in Southamapton, and when Jason and I board the ship.

My tickets arrived earlier this week. They came in an embossed leatherette wallet, along with 4 baggage tags (not in the old style, but the adhesive ones which attach around the handle of one's suitcase making them more durable, but worthless as keepsakes) and a list of bon voyage items for sale through Cunard which one can (presumably) distribute amongst one's friends as a subtle hint- ranging from coffee mug ($9) to Dom Perignon ($120) and bearing a disclaimer that any items ordered less than two weeks before the sailing cannot be guaranteed for delivery- since the tickets arrived two weeks and four days before sailing, well wishing friends have to move QUICKLY. This is the embossed logo from the ticket wallet:

Was just sent the QM2 spread from the 21 Dec issue of the Daily Mail, and as a Titanic buff was amused to read in the article about how the captain deferred retirement to make the Maiden Voyage of the QM2.

Jeremy
The captain for the Maiden Voyage on the 12th January is Captain Ronald Warwick who has (as of yesterday) been promoted to ''Commodore of the Cunard Line''
best regards
