Titanic Cutaway Project

Newest update for this project, I am now almost completely done with modeling the bow's interior.

-recolored squash court to something less squashy.

-Constructed new areas, such as..

-Third class open space
-E deck open space
-Fireman's Quarters
-The E deck landing

-Updating Alotef's ship to more accurately match interior

-Making sheer curve on ship fine and more detailed (painful to do)

-Redoing Ship rigging with one pixel wide cables

Expect more, but not quick and efficiently!

New Update Dec 2018

I'm afraid my computer got beaten up during a move, and I will be needing to buy a new one to continue. For now this is paused until further notice.

Any Updates?

You were the last one to post here so I thought id ask you, sorry to bother... but I wwas curious what exactly he was working on here?
Was he animating a 2d cutaway model to "paint" water in certain areas of the ship to simulate the sinking? Or was he drawing a ship for the sinking sim?

The reason I ask is because ive been throwing ideas around in my head of ways to depict the flooding....
One idea was to use the deck plans of Titanic on this site and animate where water was at what times. Itd be easy, just open the deck plans in Paint and paint some blue ya know? I could do every 5 minutes, 10 minutes...whatever.. it would be an eagles eye view of each deck as time goes on but might still be interesting. 2D animations cant show the effects of listing and such ya know? Thats a huge limitation..

Im also putting together a 3d project.. Im going to invest heavily into this project (financially). Im going to build an actual scale size model, Im thinking 1:100 or 1:200, and actually build the inside decks, bulkheads, cabins etc.
I got this idea from a model I just bought actually... the model had actual deck plans inscribed into the deck (ill post the photo below) and I realized it should be pretty easy to just 3d print a basic layout of a deck. I mean, the rooms wont be furnished, the dining rooms wont have tables, but the layout will be there.. hallways, cabins, rooms, doorways (no doors) and stairways. The whole idea is to actually be able to watch the sinking happen as accurately as possible. I already have a few guys working on scaling down the weight and distributing it throughout the ship to keep the balance to scale to ensure proper sinking.

The best idea ive heard so far is to use acrylic glass for the hull, then use a 3d printer to make the decks, walls, grand staircase etc. Id use an opaque/transparent plastic for the walls in the ship so the water would be visible to us watching from outside ( Id probably add food coloring to the water too). I think Id make the floors a little more noticeable to help differentiate the seperate decks better.

Most of the interior will be pretty bland, but certain areas will be decorated...Grand Staircase, maybe a smoking room, the engine room... it wont be lavish decor, but just some color and extra dimension to help immerse viewers into the sinking.

Obviously the breaking up wont happen... but for me personally its the flooding leading up to that point that interests me most anyway.
Well, again i am sorry to bother you. I am just trying to reach out to other people who seem interested in recreating the sinking...
If you have any ideas/ insight id be glad to hear it. Ive already started touching base with glass workers and getting quotes on making the hull.

If youre interested let me know...
