Mary Eloise SmithCincinnati, O., Nov. 21 – A honeymoon trip to Europe, which was brought to an abrupt and tragic end by the Titanic disaster on April 15 last, is to have a sequel in Cincinnati this month in the birth of a posthumous heir. The mother-to-be is Mrs. Lucien P. Smith, daughter of Congressman James A. Hughes, of Huntington, W. Va. She is now in the Jewish hospital at Avondale.

Mrs. Smith was a bride of only a few months when made a widow by the ocean catastrophe. Her husband, Lucien P. Smith, a young millionaire and scion of a wealthy West Virginia family, related to the DuPonts of Delaware, was one of the gallant mean who gave his life that the women aboard the great liner might be saved.

Mrs. Smith’s “coming out” in Washington occurred last January. She was one of the most popular debutantes of the season. Her marriage to Mr. Smith took place in February.
