Daughter of Matron of House
of Good Shepherd is
Missing
On The Titanic and reported to be among the missing is a Mrs. H.A. Cassebeer, who is a daughter of Mrs. L. Vernette Fosdick, the matron at the house of the Good Shepherd on Conklin avenue. It was not until yesterday that Mrs. Fosdick discovered that her daughter was a passenger on the big liner that is now at the bottom of the Atlantic.
It was shortly before Christmas, 1911, that Mrs. Cassebeer visited her mother in this city and at that time she became acquainted with a large number of Binghamtonians. She did much to aid the House of the Good Shepherd, being a woman of independent means.
There is yet a hope that her name may appear in the list of survivors as up to date it is not certain that the lists are complete.
Mrs. Sassebeer (sic) had expected to spend several months in Paris and it is the belief of her friends here that her presence on the Titanic was the result of a sudden decision to be a passenger of the first trip of the big steamer.
