Berthe Leroy

Miss Berthe Leroy was born in Compiegne, France on 10th August 1884.. Her mother Julie Leroy lived at Hersin-Coupigny, France.

She boarded the Titanic at Cherbourg as maid to Mrs Walter Donald Douglas. She travelled on Mrs Douglas' ticket (No. PC 17761).

Mrs Douglas and Miss Leroy were rescued in Lifeboat 2.

Berthe Leroy died on 7th July 1972. She is buried in Hersin Coupigny Cemetery, Pas-de-Calais France.

    Berthe LeRoy was Mahala Douglas' (Mrs. Walter Donald Douglas) French maid. ET doesn't seem to have much on her. Did she follow Mrs. Douglas to Minnesota and California? Mike Herbold

    I don't know how long she might have continued in Mrs. Douglas's employ, but she eventually returned to her native Hersin-Compeigne, France where she died July 7, 1972 just short of her 88th birthday.
