Mrs. Nichols, the eldest daughter of Mrs. Lee, Ivy House, Moorgate, Retford, was one of the passengers on the Titanic, but fortunately she left the liner at Queenstown.

Accompanying her was Mr. R. W. Smith, a London tea merchant, a friend of the family, who was on his way to New York.

It is feared that Mr. Smith, who continued his journey on the vessel after leaving Queenston, has been drowned.
