The names of those who lost their lives in the sinking of the lighthouse tender Montmagny are : — Mrs Richard, wife of the lighthouse-keeper at Belle Isle, and her seven children; and Mrs Lavolec, wife of the lighthouse-keeper at Flower Island, and her four children. The body of the second officer, Lachance, was found with two children clasped in his arms. The crew of the Montmagny were rescued by the collier Potana, and landed at Grosse Isle. The collision occurred near Crane Island, twenty-six miles below Quebec. —Reuter.
