Almost a century on, Southampton, England—the home port of RMS Titanic—carefully preserves the memory of the ship and those who tragically lost their lives on her ill-fated maiden voyage. Locals and visitors to Southampton who, in the wake of James Cameron's movie perhaps, take interest in the places and facts associated with the world's biggest maritime disaster, may find this new iPhone application useful.

GPSmyCity.com, Inc, a Las Vegas based iPhone software company, has released a RMS Titanic Tour guide app to Southampton that runs on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. With this GPS powered application in hand, users will easily find their way walking to all of Southampton's locations and monuments commemorating Titanic victims—from the Council Chamber Titanic Postal Workers Memorial (uptown) to what was once ‘Pier 43/44’, the place of Titanic’s first and last berth—accurately directed turn-by-turn from one spot to the next, accompanied by a voice-over narrated by Steve Bond, a certified yacht skipper and scuba divemaster. The app works offline, which means no roaming charges, if used overseas, and can be downloaded from iTunes.
