He's right about a lot of that. Particularly the desire to hawk books with radical "new" ideas and so on.
I would add to that the measure of increduality on the part of some whose line is: "I just can't believe that the biggest, bestest, safest ship in the world could come to such a bad by a mere iceberg."

This, as a matter of course, ignores the fact that big ships have been and continue to be killed by the mundane all the time.
