Check out the new reveal site to the Norwegian Epic. The Manhattan Dining Room obviously was inspired by public rooms on the Queen Mary.

Notice that this will be a 2 Class ship like on Cunard. Villa guests will have their own private pool in their area of the ship and also dine in their own private restaurant called "The Epic Club" and an outdoor club called "Posh Beach Club" as well as a concierge lounge, private grill, etc.
This exclusive area is located in that section of the ship that looks like a swelled head. Hmmmmm, coincidence?

Uhhhhh...I suspect that this is something along the lines of what the customer wanted so the shipyard made it happen that way. Considering the problems which pods have had, I can't say as I blame them for going with a somewhat conservative design. Since the ship has an extensive arrangement of bow and stern thrusters, I don't think they'll have a problem going into restricted ports without tugboat assistance.

Fire breaks out on Norwegian Epic at shipyard

A fire broke out earlier this week on the 150,000-ton Norwegian Epic at STX France's shipyard in St. Nazaire, France, where the vessel is under construction.

Norwegian Cruise Line said in a statement that it was notified by the shipyard that there was a fire in one of the Epic's provisioning areas on Deck 4.

Update: Norwegian Epic Fire Could be Deliberate, Says Yard

(5 p.m. EDT) -- Following the fire onboard NCL's new Norwegian Epic last week in the shipyard, an investigation has now been launched into whether the blaze was started deliberately.

In a statement, the shipyard -- STX France -- said that French authorities are looking into how the fire was started at its St. Nazaire shipyard on Monday night.

Reba McEntire named Godmother to Norwegian Epic

Country music icon Reba McEntire to christen Norwegian Cruise Line ship

Third Fire On Norwegian Epic at Cruise Shipyard: Arson Suspected

(12:29 p.m. EDT) -- We're hearing reports today of yet another suspicious fire on Norwegian Epic at the shipyard -- the third in over a month and just days from delivery.

The latest event took place on Sunday afternoon, 6 June, when workers at the STX Europe shipyard in St. Nazaire and their families were visiting the near-completed, 153,000-ton ship. According to local newspaper Ouest France, some 17,000 people were visiting the ship over the course of the day and the fire, which started on Deck 8, meant that hundreds had to be evacuated. Nobody was injured.

French prosecutors -- according to reports in Ouest France and Fairplay Daily News, and on the Web site for trade magazine Cruise Business Review -- believe that the fire on Sunday was "almost certainly deliberate in origin."

Sounds like somebody has a major axe to grind with NCL. I hope the find the party or parties responsible soon. Whatever somebody's beef with the line may be, it doesn't justify arson!
